February’s known as the month of love but, dating back to Roman times, it’s also the month associated with purity, so it’s a good time to return to yourself, appreciate your true nature and to let go of things which don’t resonate with you.
As with self-love, purification is a process which starts within. And just as self-love requires that we take action that supports our physical, psychological and spiritual growth, the process of purification is one of aligning with our divine identity and purpose — one in which we each recognise our uniqueness and significance within all of creation.
.
So we can begin to return to ourselves by actively celebrating what’s unique about ourselves
.
We were all born and continue to emerge and evolve as a part of the creative process called life.
The cycle of life and death and the process of evolution continue to occur — and we can do nothing to stop it them. These forces continue to shape everything, whether this is with our permission and with our acceptance, or not !
We are all a part of it — every single one of us.
When we look at life through this lens we can’t help but wonder what it is that we can contribute, why we were created and born from this exact set of circumstances and how we can take responsibility for who, what and why we are.
.
This is the true realisation not only of our worth, but also what we can do, be, contribute or create.
.
There is talent, creativity, passion and love in each and every one of us.
So we each need to ask ourselves, what’s our uniqueness ?
We often experience blocks and barriers to truly knowing ourselves and flourishing in life in the form of our own resistances to what is; our own lack of confidence; our own lack of self-esteem and because of our own (and others’) false limiting beliefs and expectations.
Just because you do or don’t have qualities or merits judged as most valuable or desirable by our society in this material age doesn’t mean that you are better or worse than another, or that you shouldn’t appreciate the things which truly nourish your soul, or you shouldn’t do things which touch people’s hearts or make a meaningful impact on their lives, however small.
On a scientific level, the recent discoveries in the field of quantum physics has opened up a new understanding of ourselves. We are all highly complex systems of energy — which means you are connected with and influencing everything around you in more ways than you can possibly imagine. You therefore have influence, potential and power the likes of which you can barely imagine.
.
Don’t limit yourself, don’t label yourself, don’t restrict yourself.
.
Or, as Rumi said, ‘Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.’
Know yourself. Strip away the things which aren’t important to you. Get in touch with your unique gifts, talents and passions.
Shine. Live with joy. Let life work through you. That’s the meaning of being truly alive and how you make an impact.
And you can start by celebrating you — the true, authentic you.
